In recognition of its growing stature, the event has been elevated to a Gold Level status by Kenya Aquatics
A host of teams from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania have already confirmed their participation in the upcoming Kiambu Aquatics Inter-County Invitational Swimming Championship scheduled for Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November at Regis Runda Academy.
The annual championship, renowned for attracting top-tier swimmers in the East African region, is set to include teams such as Seahorses Aquatics, Supermarlins, Braeburn Swimming Club, Torpedo Eldoret, Swift Kids Kisumu, Dashing Dolphins, and Gliding Dolphins from Mombasa.
Representing Tanzania will be Lake Victoria Swimming Club, while Dolphins Swimming Club will travel all the way from Uganda.
Speaking ahead of the championship, Nahashon Otieno, who is the head of the competition’s Local Organizing Committee said: "This will be more than just a competition.
It will be a chance for swimmers to prove their mettle and sharpen their skills before heading to the Africa Aquatics Zone 3 Championship in Bujumbura, Burundi. We are expecting a thrilling display of talent from all corners of the country and beyond."
In recognition of its growing stature, the event has been elevated to a Gold Level status by Kenya Aquatics, making it one of only two Gold Level Series events in the country.
This distinction not only highlights the high level of competition but also cements the event's position on the national swimming stage.
The timing of the championship could not come at a better time, especially with swimmers set to prepare for more upcoming events like the Lamu Festival Beach Water Polo Tournament, and the World Aquatics SC Swimming Championship in Budapest, Hungary.
